Description
The Maintenance Technician at IMH Products is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of various machinery used in the fabrication process. Their role involves conducting regular inspections, ordering parts and supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime. They play a crucial part in keeping the equipment running efficiently, adhering to safety protocols, and collaborating with production teams to meet production targets. A skilled maintenance technician in this role contributes to the overall productivity and quality of the metal fabrication process.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain machinery and equipment as needed for continuous operation.
- Install new production equipment. Read and interpret engineering blueprints.
- Perform repairs on hydraulic and pneumatic equipment to manufacturer specifications.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment failures. Conduct mechanical repairs such as replacing belts, bearings, and seals; perform lubrication and alignment of machine components. Replace, fix, or realign parts and accessories in line with production specifications. Perform basic electrical repairs including replacing fuses, light fixtures, and wiring plugs; utilize multimeters to check voltage and continuity safely.
- Disassemble machines and order parts and accessories for repair.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures. Maintain a repair history of equipment.
- Monitor and record maintenance costs of replacement parts, service costs and associated repair labor.
- Develop, implement, and provide hands-on training programs for team members and production personnel on machine maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
- Offer ongoing support and guidance to team members, encouraging continuous learning and improvement in maintenance techniques and equipment operation.
- Perform general maintenance tasks, such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting ETC.
- Communicate issues affecting production with the management team.
- Install and assist in the integration of new production equipment into existing systems.
- Maintain a clean working environment in line with OSHA standards.
- Adherence to LOTO, PPE, and all other safety standards during maintenance. Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards within the workplace, promoting a culture of safety and compliance. Ensure all maintenance work complies with relevant codes, regulations, and company policies.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations.
- Previous work experience as a Maintenance Technician.
- Ability to demonstrate critical thinking to develop rapid solutions to keep equipment operational
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and blueprints.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to resolving related issues. Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems a requirement.
