Description

The Automation Engineer at IMH Products plays a pivotal role in revolutionizing our manufacturing processes through innovative automation solutions. This role involves designing, programming, and optimizing automated systems for enhanced productivity and efficiency. Additionally, the engineer collaborates on capital projects, modernization initiatives, and troubleshooting efforts to ensure seamless operations and continuous improvement. Leading system upgrades and migrations, they drive the evolution of our automation capabilities to maintain our competitive edge in the industry.

Job Duties

  • Design, develop, and implement automation solutions to improve production processes.
  • Create and maintain fixture designs for welding and fabrication, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in production.
  • Review customer drawings and 3D models for accuracy and manufacturability, providing necessary modifications and enhancements as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Program, troubleshoot, and maintain robotic systems, including Yaskawa/Motoman robots, and Panasonic robots.
  • Create manufacturing drawings that expand on the customer design when necessary, ensuring seamless integration with automated systems.
  • Troubleshoot production opportunities and implement solutions for process improvements and cost reductions.
  • Work with vendors to quote necessary tooling and materials needed for production tooling and fixtures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
  • Solidworks experience is a plus.
  • Proven experience in automation engineering, preferably within the CNC and Metal Fabrication industry.
  • Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting robotic systems, particularly Panasonic and Motoman robots.
  • Familiarity with Universal robotic systems is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of robotic welding processes and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to a positive, supportive atmosphere.
