Description
The Manufacturing Engineer will oversee the design of production machinery and will identify and recommend solutions to production problems related to materials, processes, and tooling.
Job Duties
- Designs tools and machines used to manufacture products.
- Support Engine Major Components Machining operations by developing and implanting work instructions, routings, CNC programs and labor standards.
- Reviews production program equipment, hardware, and tooling; makes recommendations for repairs or replacement.
- Oversees the development of new processes, methods, and production controls. Including operation manuals for new and existing equipment.
- Installs new equipment and ensures that it operates correctly; trains others to operate new machinery.
- Performs continuance improvement activities to address, safety, quality and productivity while using LEAN manufacturing thinking.
- Maintains knowledge of new and developing manufacturing technology, equipment, and applications; applies this knowledge to recommend and implement new technology and processes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess problems or issues with manufacturing equipment. With extensive knowledge of production processes.
- Knowledge of manufacturing, CNC Programming, quality, tooling, and layout design.
- 1 or more years of experience in one or more engineering areas: Machining, Production, Manufacturing, or Quality.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, and computer-aided drafting (CAD) software. Knowledge in engineering tools such as CREO, AutoCAD, CATIA and Soildworks preferred.
Education and Experience:
- Degree in Engineering/Technology discipline or related Engineering field.
- Three years of experience as a manufacturing engineer required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
